Alumni Spotlight: Danny Lopez and Cam Stewart

This week we get to feature two Granby Youth Lacrosse Alumni performing at a high level: Danny Lopez and Cam Stewart.

Danny and Cam started for GYL as Kindergartners back in 2014. They played together all throughout their elementary and middle school years both for Granby as well as club for Team Savage.

They recently played against each other in a New England 1 Founders League high school game where  Loomis Chaffee [Lopez] hosted Avon Old Farms [Stewart].

Cam Stewart is a Junior at Avon Old Farms. Currently playing varsity lacrosse and football. He is the starting kicker for AOF and has aspirations to play football in college. He currently plays club for 3D New England South.

Danny Lopez is playing for Loomis Chaffee, currently ranked number #1 in the Nation. Lopez plays club for Hilltop Lax [currently ranked number 1 for 2027 clubs in the nation]. Danny is looking to continue playing lacrosse at the collegiate level. Terry Foy from Inside Lacrosse recently published this about Danny:

"Very clearly one of the top players in the 2027 class. The first time I watched him, he jumped out primarily as a scorer, using an impressive combination of speed and power to get to the crease or other dangerous scoring positions. But the second time I watched him, he showcased his distribution a little bit more and that really seemed to solidify him even more as a quarterback-style X attackman."

Granby Youth Lacrosse is very proud to have both Cam and Danny as alumni, and we can't wait to see what's next for both!
